WE DID IT!
We all should be incredibly proud of what we have achieved on this group. We've shouted that we've had enough of a dull Christmas chart every year and given it a complete shot in the arm for many years to come.
We can also be very proud in our fundraising for SHELTER.
Over £83,000 (at time of writing) and still counting is an amazing feat for just a humble facebook group

Where do we go from here? Well first of all this group is now as good as a historical document. It's made money...it's broken 2 chart sales records...and it's made HISTORY
Secondly, it's given many others hope that the singles chart really is for everybody in this country of all ages, shapes, and sizes...and maybe re-ignited many people's passion for the humble old single as well as THAT excitement again in actually tuning in to the chart countdown on a Sunday.
Lastly...many of you have asked us about next year...what are we going to do? Well for us two the answer is quite simple...we won't
How can you top this? To put one of your favourite bands, with one of your all-time favourite tracks at the top of the Christmas chart? Well in our opinion you can't. So officially here, we'll offer to support others if they fancy a go like we did...but we won't attempt to top the Christmas chart again. It's now been done..and bloody well if you ask us...

Q: WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO NEXT CHRISTMAS?
A: We probably won't. How can you possibly top putting one of your favourite bands, with one of your favourite songs at Christmas No.1? The answer is simple...you can't! Besides, it's been done now ;-)
Aside from this, it would defeat the object of why we did it this year. We wanted to stop a domination and did so emphatically. By doing it again next year we'd be doing exactly the thing we raged against in the first place.
Q: DID SIMON COWELL REALLY SPEAK TO YOU?
A: Yes, Simon spoke to Jon on the phone late Saturday evening and texted on Sunday once the result was known. It was a really good chat about the Christmas chart in general...music...and how it was one of the most exciting and anticipated chart battles in many years!
Q: HAS SIMON OFFERED YOU GUYS A JOB?
A: The truth is he may well have done we just don't know. Our facebook inboxes, email inboxes, twitter messages, voicemail messages have gone stratospheric in the last 24 hours! We're sifting through them as best we can right now...in all honesty the POPE could've offered me a job as official Vatican Anger-management consultant for all I know...I just haven't got to it yet. For the record we haven't accepted OR refused anything like that as yet
Q: I SENT YOU A MESSAGE DAYS AGO AND YOU HAVEN'T REPLIED BACK!?
A: See above
Q: BUT BOTH SONGS ARE SONY BLAH BLAH JABBER JABBER ETC...
A: Yes we know...and? It wasn't an issue at all when I started this. The point is to have something else at the top as opposed to the same TV show scooping it again. Rage was a perfect choice, hence it went to No.1...we couldn't give a toss what label it's on . Get over it.
Q: ARE YOU GOING TO PUSH 3 LIONS FOR THE WORLD CUP 2010?
A: No! firstly because it's already been No.1 twice, but secondly it was only SUGGESTED to us to maybe support a World Cup song. It's been taken that we are now going to go hammer and tongs at a world cup assault. There's already a couple of songs I've heard that sound pretty good, so we may support other campaigns, but won't do one ourselves.
Q: HAVE YOU SPOKEN TO JOE?
A: Not directly, but I asked Simon to pass on our best wishes to him
Q: HAVE YOU SPOKEN TO RAGE THEMSELVES?
A: Only through Radio 5Live. Firstly when they dedicated 'that' performance to us :) ,then Tom Morello on the Monday morning breakfast show.
Q: WHAT HAPPENS TO THE GROUP NOW? THERE'S NEARLY A MILLION FOLLOWERS THERE
A: We still want to keep raising money for SHELTER. The group is as good as a historical document now, so we'll still encourage any posting and discussions of course
Q: HOW DO I GET TO COME ALONG TO THE FREE UK RAGE SHOW?
A: We don't know any details yet, and neither do the band we reckon. Watch this space as well as keeping an eye on their official website
Q: DO YOU THINK SOMETHING LIKE THIS CAN HAPPEN AGAIN?
A: Honestly? No we don't. Now that a campaign like this has actually worked, I fear that there will now be too many others having a go to do the same. That in itself is fantastic and we'll commend anyone for trying, it's just that if there's too many of these campaigns to get 'XXXX to No.1' it will just dilute and split the sales.
Don't get us wrong though...if it does happen again it will be fantastic!
Q: DO YOU WORK FOR SONY OR ARE YOU SONY STOOGES?
A: No
Q: WE HEAR YOU GUYS MANAGED TO SCORE A NO.1 WORLD TWITTER TREND TOO?
A: Yes. Jon and @tonyrudd had a spoof twitter conversation as if twitter was used in the 1980's and used the #80stweets hashtag. It went to No.1 trend for about a day. We think #ratm4xmas did pretty well too!
Q; IS IT TRUE THAT THE GROUP IS TO HAVE IT'S OWN FEATURE AT NEXT YEAR'S BRIT AWARDS?
A: The BPI have asked permission to use it for the 'Highlights of the Year' in which we were happy to oblige

** 'OFFICIAL' WEBSITES / MERCHANDISE STATEMENT FROM JON & TRACY **
We've been quoted in the press over the last 24 hours for many things. Annoyingly a 'ratm4xmas' website was claiming to be the "official" website for our campaign according to the NME. Well quite simply it is not, and all of the quotes in their article, albeit some valid ones, are not from us and not 'official' as such. Please be aware of this.
There's loads of websites about this cause that have sprung up since we started to get press attention. Can I make it very clear that there is NO official website. The only places on the net which is official (ie. Me & Tracy) are:

That's it. There are a few other sites however who actually bothered to contact us before they were made live and posted up. Richard's ratm.co.uk gives all the relevent facts and links with no fuss, and the ragefeed site is well made with a live Shelter donations feed. Nothing else (including the 'fan page') has anything whatsoever to do with us.
There was some great T-shirt designs done, and we have been assured that these will be non-profit making, with any extras going to Shelter. If you find anything that doesn't look this way then please let us know so we can get it dealt with.
